His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, President of Sharjah University, witnessed the launch of the conference. The ceremony began with the national peace of the UAE and the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and the presentation of a short documentary film about the achievements of the Sharjah Educational, Cultural and Literary Authority, followed by a speech by His Excellency Humaid Mohammed Al Qutami, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Regional Center for Educational Planning,

He stressed that the conference comes to discuss the learning environment required by the third millennium and how the learner appears in this century and propose the solutions and recommendations necessary to push education systems to achieve the basic goals of the role of educational planning through the global knowledge and the emergence and emergence of innovation and study the impact of technology in human relations and others Among other things.

HE Dr. Hamad Bin Saif Al Hammami, Director of the UNESCO Regional Office in Beirut and the Director General of UNESCO, stressed the importance of the exchange of experiences and the broadening of participation in the development of the educational system.
Mahra Hilal Al Mutaiwee, Director of the Regional Center for Educational Planning and Secretary General of the Conference, presented during the opening of the conference an overview of the center and its main objectives, plans and future projects.
During the two-day conference, which was held from November 27 to 28, three working papers were presented in each of the four themes of the conference, which discussed in general the challenges that have hampered the achievement of the goals of educational policies and reaching their goals.

The Second International Conference "Educational Planning and the Challenges of the 21st Century" was an opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of planning, disseminating knowledge and educational culture and achieving openness to global experiences.

On the purpose of the conference, Mr. Hazem Mohammed Al-Humaidani, Director of Al-Razi School, explained that the conference was an opportunity to invite experts, educators and educators to participate in this scientific event.
