BriefH.E Mahra AlMutaiwei is the Director of the Regional Center for Educational Planning (RCEP), a UNESCO Category II Centers, which is hosted by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in accordance with the agreement signed between the UAE government and UNESCO in 2003. AlMutaiwei is a leading expert in education planning matters, management, and policy development in the UAE, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, and Arab states by virtue of the tasks assigned to the center and its local, regional, and international partnerships. She is a receiver of numerous training programs that support these technical skills, as well as a graduate of the UAE Government Leaders Program (GLP). AlMutaiwei held the position of Director of the Educational Leadership Development Project at the Ministry of Education, and she played a key role in the national team that prepared the UAE's report on the UNESCO Education For All 2015 Initiative. She has also participated as a member in a number of scientific jury committees in educational institutions, including: Hamdan Bin Rashid Award for Excellence in Education and the Sharjah Award for Educational Excellence. In addition to her activities as a quality evaluator, Al-Mutaiwie is the UAE representative in the Higher International Steering Committee concerned with the fourth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG4) and Education 2030, as well as the Education Advisory Committee at the ALECSO.
