General Objectives: This meeting is designed to assist the target audience by developing their capacities and competencies in financial matters related to the planning and management of the education sector, particularly within the sustainable development agenda/education 2030.
Content: UNESCO Regional Office for Arab States in Beirut recently developed the content in collaboration with specialists from the International Institute for Educational Planning in an endeavor to support States' efforts to achieve SDG 4. The content will cover the most important issues and finances for the education planning process, financial strategies and policies, indicators for financial situation analysis, public spending and education allocations, performance measurement at the educational level, projection and simulation, and the medium-term expenditure framework.
Target Group:
Each State is expected to participate in the meeting with three staff members from the Ministry of Education/Department of Educational Planning, and institutions related to education, provided that their tasks and duties are as follows:
- Head of Department: Finance in the Ministry or the Directorate General of Finance or the Department of Planning of Educational Needs.
- Technical person who works in financial indicators for the educational sector (education finance, education budget, medium-term expenditure, financial planning for education).
- Education Budget Officer at the Ministry of Finance.
