Training: Projection & Simulation Models for Policy Dialogue & Educational Strategies
Duration: 20 Days 15 Apr-16 May 2013
General Objective: To offer an advanced level of specialization in simulation model techniques. The training is to allow participants to master the essential concept and key steps in constructing simulation models and to understand their role in educational planning, management and formulation of educational strategies.
Content:
• Identify the main variables involved in estimating the number of pupils enrolled.
• Select the relevant variables needed in estimating the necessary human, material and financial resources.
• Describe the basic projection techniques commonly used in educational planning.
• Calculate the enrolment projection based on the flow model.
• Compute these techniques with an excel spread sheet.
• Analyze the impact that different policies on access and flow regulations will have on the number of pupils build a basic simulation model with their own national data.
• Appraise the usefulness of simulation models in planning and policy analysis, as well as in organization of the policy dialogues.
Target Group:Educational Planners and Officers in-charge of education cost analysis, finance policy and budget preparation in GCC MOEs.
